Peer Communications Team
The Peer Communications Team (PCT) is a student-led initiative dedicated to enhancing the presentation skills of graduate students within our department.
Effective communication is a vital skill for every scientist, and we are committed to helping our peers refine their ability to convey complex ideas to both specialized and general audiences. The PCT offers students the opportunity to practice their presentations in front of peers who have demonstrated excellence in public speaking. Our sessions provide a supportive environment where students can present their research to a diverse audience and receive constructive feedback on various aspects including organization, slide clarity, speaking pace and tone, and overall engagement.
How does it work?
For Wednesday Noon Departmental Seminar presentations, the PCT will contact you 1.5 to 2 weeks before your scheduled talk to offer a practice session and arrange your PCT session. For other types of presentations, such as conference talks, class presentations, or committee meeting presentations, we encourage you to proactively reach out to us.
You can schedule a practice session by emailing the PCT directly at biochemistrypct@gmail.com or by contacting either of our co-chairs.
