2016 Biochemistry Retreat at Geneva Park

On August 25th and 26th, the Biochemistry Department held its first Retreat outside of Toronto at the Geneva Park Conference Centre near Orillia.

August 9th dawned hot and steamy but that didn’t deter our hardy biochemists from heading out to Flemingdon Park 9-hole Golf Course in Midtown Toronto for our annual Golf Day. July 14th saw the Biochemistry Department gathering once again for an exciting day of golf. Held at the Flemingdon 9-hole Golf Course in Midtown Toronto the threat of rain didn’t deter our intrepid golfers. Research Day 2015

More than 200 attendees and 80 posters contributed to another highly successful Research Day. Held in the Medical Sciences Auditorium with posters in the Stone Lobby, we also enjoyed a BBQ lunch on the “patio” in between.

Congratulations to Sympascho Young on winning one of three Graduate and Life Sciences Education Undergraduate Student Leadership Awards!

The award recognises academically high achieving students involved in mentoring, student unions, student life and university governance. For the nomination submission, Sympascho wrote an inspiring Leadership Philosophy and Activity statement detailing his journey to effective leadership.
