Grant received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from UCLA where he worked in Dan S. Ray's lab studying DNA replication in the trypanosomatid C. fasciculata. His postdoctoral fellowship was at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore with Tom Kelly, where he studied regulation of S phase in fission yeast. He has been at U of T since 1999, Associate Professor since 2004, and Professor since 2011.

Attila received his B.Sc. in Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto. He is studying the recruitment of Rtt107 to stalled replication forks.

Jiongwen Ou, M.S.
Technician

Jiongwen has a B.S. in Medicine from Kunming Medical College, China and an M.S. in Forensic Medicine from West China University of Medical Sciences. He was a technician at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York before joining our group. In addition to being an all-around miracle worker, Jiongwen is characterizing the biochemical properties of Rmi1.

Tina graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a B.Sc. in Biochemistry. She is exploring the role of chromatin structure in the response to DNA damage during S phase of the cell cycle.


 
   

Johnny Tkach, Ph.D.

Johnny received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto, in John Glover's lab. He is using DNA combing to characterize DNA replication defects in genome instability mutants and is conducting high-content microscopic screens to identify novel DNA damage response pathways.

Nikko received his B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto. He is identifying novel DNA damaging agents using chemical genetics in yeast and human cells. Nikko is co-supervised by Corey Nislow.

Mohammed Bellaoui, Ph.D.

Mohammed received his Ph.D. in Genetics and Physiology of Microorganisms from the University of Paris-Sud, France. He was a postdoctoral fellow with George Haughn at UBC and Wilhelm Gruissem at UC Berkeley and ETH, Zurich. Mohammed left the lab in 2005 to join the faculty at the Université Mohamed Premier Oujda in Morocco.
